Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Primarily inhabits subtropical and temperate forests across China, Taiwan, northern Vietnam, and parts of the Himalayan region, ranging from 300 to 2,500 meters elevation.

Ecological Role

Important seed disperser in forest ecosystems, contributing to forest regeneration and maintaining plant biodiversity through foraging and caching behaviors.

Morphology
