Habitat

Tropical and subtropical rainforests across Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Panama, typically inhabiting mid to upper canopy levels between 0-1,500 meters elevation

  • HEAD SENSORY Robust skull, pronounced jaw, large nasal cavity enabling powerful howling vocalizations, excellent binocular vision
  • BODY STRUCTURE Large-bodied primate, males weighing 6-10 kg, females 4-8 kg, with body length 45-65 cm and additional tail length of 50-75 cm
